UConn wins their 12th championship

Aaliyah Edwards scored 24 points, helping UConn secure the 2025 NCAA Women’s Championship with an 82-59 victory. She scored more than 21 points in the game after recovering from a leg injury caused by diabetes.

Paige Bueckers also contributed 17 points, concluding her college basketball career. With this, she matches a record held by Maya Moore as a UConn player in national tournaments.

Newcomer Sarah Strong had an outstanding performance with 24 points and 15 rebounds, earning an impressive triple-double. This set a new scoring record by a UConn player in a national championship.

This victory marks UConn’s first championship title since 2016. Coach Geno Auriemma’s team once again proved to be a dominant force in women’s college basketball.
