There have been phone call problems on three networks

Some users of the mobile network Three have reported being unable to make phone calls.

A statement regarding the issue was released by Three on X (formerly Twitter).

It was confirmed that the problem is affecting voice services.

The number of affected users among the network’s 11 million customers was not specified.

DownDetector reported over 9,000 issue submissions at around 9:30 AM on Wednesday.

The issue appeared during the morning hours on Wednesday.

Three confirmed that 4G and 5G data services are operating as normal.

Following its merger with Vodafone, Three has become the UK’s largest mobile network.

Vodafone services have not been affected and are functioning normally.

However, other providers that use Three’s network have also been affected.

ID Mobile posted an update saying their technical teams are working with Three to resolve the issue, and services will be restored soon.

Smarty also confirmed an issue affecting voice services and said it is being investigated.

Social media users reported multiple problems caused by the outage.

Some were unable to return missed calls from hospitals or contact vehicle breakdown services.

A few users also reported issues with data access.

However, Three has stated that data services are working properly.

In January 2024, an investigation was launched by Three into a similar outage that affected emergency calls to 999.
