In 2024, the death of his wife left him emotionally shaken. As a result, he suffered from memory and cognitive issues (dementia). Afterward, he was placed under a conservatorship.

As the leader of the Beach Boys, he created songs like “Surfin’ U.S.A.,” “California Girls,” and “Fun, Fun, Fun.”

His voice and musical style had a deep impact on American youth culture in the 1960s.

During that era, 13 Beach Boys songs entered the Billboard Top 10. “I Get Around,” “Help Me, Rhonda,” and “Good Vibrations” reached the No. 1 spot.
