Nintendo has captured global attention with a powerful announcement. The highly anticipated Zelda live-action movie is set to premiere on May 7, 2027. Benjamin Evan Ainsworth has been cast as Link, while Bo Bragason will portray Princess Zelda.
Benjamin is 17 years old. He voiced Pinocchio in Disney’s Pinocchio (2022) and appeared in The Haunting of Bly Manor (2020). Bo Bragason, now 21, starred in Three Girls and as Roxy Jackson in Renegade Nell (2024) on Disney+.

Shigeru Miyamoto made the announcement via Nintendo’s official Japanese X account, expressing excitement about both actors and the film.
Wes Ball will direct the movie. Miyamoto joins forces with former Marvel creative chief Avi Arad, and the project is a collaboration between Nintendo and Arad Productions.

This marks Nintendo’s first-ever live-action movie. After the success of The Super Mario Bros. Movie in 2023, the company now steps into the film world with the goal of building a broader Zelda cinematic universe.
