Chicago – A mass shooting occurred outside Artis Restaurant in Chicago’s River North as rapper Mello Buckzz’s mixtape party was ending. A person in a dark car opened fire on the crowd. Two women and two men, aged 24 and 25, were killed.
Fourteen others were injured. Three are in critical condition. A 31-year-old woman and 10 others are in stable condition.
This is the deadliest shooting Chicago has seen in years. Mello Buckzz’s boyfriend and one of her close friends were among the victims. “My heart shattered,” she wrote in an Instagram post.
Artis Restaurant said on social media, “Our hearts are broken. We are working with authorities to ensure safety.”
In 2022, a shooting at the same location killed one person.
